I loved watching the reunion! So moving! I am French and living in California, not New York. I guess I have lived vicariously through my mom who also spent her childhood in Africa (born in Burkina Faso). A young artist and mother, she passed away in her twenties, leaving me on this earth to figure it all out on my own…Hell! So the first thing I did , I moved to the States. The second dream I fulfilled was a stay in Burkina, where I traveled, attempting to retrace her’s and my grandpa’s footsteps. There was no “first person” meeting like you, but nevertheless, I felt right at home! I came back and wrote a feature-length film script set in Burkina-Faso back in the days of “Upper Volta”…
Anyhow, looking forward to more…Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the pictures of Gagnoa, Guiberoua, and some of the surrounding villages. This was my home (along with my wife and kids) from 1984 to 1987. It doesn’t seem to be a whole lot different now than before. Merci beaucoup!
